Pregnancy Sleeping Tips & Video

Whether you can't shut your brain off or are uncomfortable, sleeping while pregnant isn't always easy.  Below are my favorite tips that helped me during both of my pregnancies.

Essential Oils

You may diffuse or place on the bottoms on your feet.

Listen to music

These are my two favorite songs to play while I sleep.

  • Weightless by Marconi Union:  This song has been called the world’s most relaxing song and is said to reduce up to 65% of anxiety.

  • Binaural Sleep Music  - 528 Hz Sleep Frequency -  I listened to this one throughout my second pregnancy.

Midnight Yoga

If you wake up in the middle of the night and your brain turns on, get up and do some gentle stretches until you yawn.  This helps get out of your head and into your body.

Clear your head before sleep

This is not easy!  BUT try to release any worry or stress before bed.  You may do so by meditating at the end of the day or journaling about a stressful situations or upcoming events.  If you wake up in the middle of the night, write down any thoughts to deal with later.  Try not to grab your phone... the Google rabbit hole never helps.

Magnesium Glycinate

My acupuncturist recommended taking magnesium glycinate for sleep and it has worked very well for me!  I take this whether I am pregnant or not.  Of course, always consult with your doctor before taking supplements.
